HEALTH AND HIEGENE GUIDE

HEALTH AND HIEGENE GUIDE.

The Guide has however been formally recognised by the Secretary of State for Health. Local authority enforcement officers are required to give due consideration to its content when carrying out inspections of your business. When we all follow the recommendations in the Food health and safety Guide it helps us all to meet the requirements of the Regulations and will also minimise the risk that our businesses will be the cause of a customer's complaint or illness.

The Regulations that will be shown is most well-run businesses should find that they will already meet most of the obligations in them. However, the Regulations do require businesses to look at their operations in a different way, and conduct an assessment of the risks to food safety within their business, and to apply the necessary precautions to deal with these. This is known as "HAZARD ANALYSIS".

My few facts provides the information necessary for you to understand what is involved in this part of the meat trade, also I am showing you on how serious us butchers are on this matter.

Other regulations relating to food may also requirements for labelling of food and temperature controls on certain frozen foods, to apply to food retailers are including:-

GROCERS
BUTCHERS
FISHMONGERS
GREENGROCERS
DELICATESSENS
SUPERMARKETS (including in-store bakeries)

It also applies to businesses where food is only a part of what they do such as:-
